The below is an update from the Trinity Historical Society regarding our on-going work at our historic sites and some special events and exhibits that will be taking place over the course of the summer. 1) Invitation

Trinity Historical Society is pleased to be hosting the Rug Hooking Guild of Newfoundland and Labrador's exhibit on Lighthouses of Newfoundland and Labrador. An official opening will take place this evening Saturday, June 22nd at 7 pm at the Lester-Garland House with light refreshments to be served.

The exhibit will be open daily at the Lester-Garland House from 9:30 am - 5:00 pm. The public is invited to stop in to look at these wonderful pieces of work which will be on display until Friday, July 19th.

2) Ferry Rides to Fort Point ? NOW STARTED - Trinity Historical Society is pleased to announce a partnership with Trinity-Eco Tours for the provision of ferry boat services to Fort Point from Trinity and return. Starting today (June 22) residents and visitors to Trinity are encouraged to take the boat at 10 am, 12 pm and 2 pm from Trinity Lodge on Church Road (directly across the road from Trinity Museum). View Trinity from the water as you make your way to Fort Point to learn more about this intriguing place and the important role that it played in Trinity and Area?s fishing, military and navigational history. Upon arrival at the site proceed to the Visitor Centre to purchase your Visitor?s Pass to the site, $5.00 and learn more about the history of the site, then proceed out on to the trail for a walk around the former military site and learn about its past while also taking in the spectacular views of Trinity, Trinity East and Skerwink from various points along the trail.You will also learn about the flora and fauna of the area on your walk around the site and you may even get the opportunity to see a whale. The cost for the boat tour are $15.00 per person and admission to the Fort Point Site is $5.00 per person.

Reserve the Dates - Upcoming Events:

Lecture on Newfoundland Stamps with historian and philatelist Cliff Brown at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 15th at the Court House, Gaol and General Building in Trinity. A fundraiser of the Trinity Historical Society. Admission fee $10.00 per person.
